So what is 'Ignite Karaoke'?

When we came to announcing dates for Ignite Cardiff #3, along with new speakers a couple of our previous Ignite speakers got in touch saying they had such a good time before that they'd love to speak at Ignite again - but also wanted to give the newbees a chance.

Not wanting to say no I discovered that a lot of Ignite's in the States run 'Ignite Karaoke' presentations, where I (as Ignite organiser) would put together a slide deck of random slides and our volunteers (in this case the lovely Mark… Continue

Cardiff Design Festival set to Ignite Cardiff

Imagine that you're on stage in front of an audience of hundreds of people, doing a five-minute presentation using slides that automatically rotate every 15 seconds, whether you're ready or not. What would you do? What would you say? Could you stand the pressure? If you think that you could, Ignite is for you.

Following the overwhelming success of the previous Ignite Cardiff events, Cardiff Design Festival thought that the night would make a great addition to their month of festivities in Octob… Continue

Join us for Ignite Cardiff

So we thought that we'd try something a little different for the next meet up. I was chatting to Neil Cocker from Nocci recently and saying how great it would be to hold a big Christmas party-type event for both creative and interactive industries. We hunted around for a format and came across Ignite. For those of you that don't know, Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 and since then it has spread like wild-fire (no pun intended) throughout the world and is extreamly popular in the States - t… Continue

Simon Wardley's going to be at Meet Up number 4!!!

How excited are we?! When organising the Cardiff Web Scene, we always hope to bring you speakers who are going to be interesting and inspiring and so far I think we've not done too badly, especially with meet up number 4 which is only a few weeks away.

Understandably we were upset when Carl Harris from the British Computer Society let us know that something had come up and he wasn't able to attend the next event, but we are sooooo excited that Simon Wardley has offered to come along as our seco… Continue

Hi Claire -
You like like a highly engaged networker!
I'm looking for any official channels that the digi media sector in Cardiff use for finding tenders? Specifically, I'm looking for Web 2.0 experts who could really help us develop and grow an online social network for the new National Theatre Wales. I will put the brief on the Jobs Board here - are there any other 'unofficial" channels?
Any thoughts most appreciated :-)
Thanks - Hannah
